Outcome parameters included rheoplethysmography measurements of limb volume, limb circumference at different level, ultrasonic features of subcutaneous tissue and patient's subjective assessment of treatment success during and one month after PCT course.

Objective: This study assessed the effects of calcium channel blocker Amlodipine on the cerebral circulation in patients with essential hypertension.
Methods: Cerebral circulation in 37 patients with essential hypertension and 10 healthy subjects was assessed using rheoplethysmography. In patients with essential hypertension cerebral circulation values were also re-estimated after treatment with Amlodipine (5-10 mg daily).
Various techniques may be used to assess leg edema. The value of these investigations has been discussed in depth in the consensus statement made in Vaux de Cernay in 1997 and supported by Servier Research Group. These techniques can be classified into three groups: The most simple is leg circumference measurement, which can be assessed by a tape measure, or more rigorously with a Leg-O-Meter.
