Background: It is known that different intensity exercises create skeletal muscle damage at different levels. The purpose of the study was to compare effects of bilateral or unilateral lower body resistance exercise on markers of skeletal muscle damage.
Methods: The Brzycki Formula was used to calculate participants' one repetition maximum strength for each movement and limb, separately. Blood samples were obtained before exercise, immediately after exercise, and 30 min after exercise for both types of exercise. Creatine Kinase (CK), Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH), Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), and Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) levels were analyzed. Data was analyzed using two-way repeated measures ANOVA.
Results: When CK, AST, and ALT levels were compared according to time points, a statistical difference was found (p < 0.05). Furthermore, it was revealed that LDH levels were statistically significant according to exercise types (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Unilateral lower body resistance exercise caused higher skeletal muscle damage than the bilateral lower body resistance exercise. This result suggests that unilateral lower body resistance exercise should be preferred for short preparation period as opposed to bilateral lower body resistance exercise.

Background: Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a rare inherited arrhythmia disorder characterized by ventricular arrhythmia triggered by adrenergic stimulation.
Case Presentation: A 9-year-old boy presented with convulsions following physical exertion. Bidirectional ventricular tachycardia (VT) during a treadmill test led to the diagnosis of catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT).

In the rubber hand illusion (RHI), individuals perceive a fake hand as their own if an unseen hand and a visible fake hand are stroked simultaneously. We examined how the RHI on either hand influenced the temporal order judgment (TOJ) of bimanual stimulation. In Experiment 1, participants performed TOJ during RHI or non-RHI conditions.

This case report discusses a 32-year-old woman with no significant medical history who underwent elective bilateral breast reduction with auto-augmentation and abdominoplasty. Initially, her recovery was smooth, but on the third postoperative day, she exhibited tachycardia, tachypnea, and mild shortness of breath, while other vital signs remained stable. A chest X-ray revealed pneumoperitoneum, and a subsequent abdominal CT confirmed moderate pneumoperitoneum without gastrointestinal leakage.

Palmoplantar hyperhidrosis is a functional disease with an unknown pathogenesis, making it challenging to find a lasting and effective treatment. This article reports a case of a 43-year-old patient with palmoplantar hyperhidrosis treated with computed tomography (CT)-guided radiofrequency neurotomy (RFN) of bilateral T3-4 sympathetic chain combined with bilateral L3 sympathetic ganglion. The optimal puncture level and skin entry point were selected, and measurements were taken using a CT tool to determine needle depth, angle, and distance from the midline.

Purpose: To analyze the effect of right versus left long-term single-sided deafness (SSD) on sound source localization (SSL), discuss the necessity of intervention and treatment for SSD patients, and analyze the therapeutic effect of long-term unilateral cochlear implantation (UCI) from the perspective of SSL.
Methods: This study included 25 patients with SSD, 11 patients with UCI, and 30 participants with normal hearing (NH). Their SSL ability was tested by obtaining their average root mean square (RMS) error values of SSL test.
