Aim: The aim of the study was to examine the orientation learning needs of adjunct clinical faculty as they transition from expert clinicians to novice educators.

Background: Schools of nursing are increasingly using adjunct clinical faculty because of the nurse faculty shortage. Retention is a concern.

Method: This descriptive quantitative study used the Needs Assessment Survey for Topic Inclusion in a Guide to Orientation. Adjunct clinical faculty rated the level of importance of orientation topics and if they received needed information.

Results: The majority of topics were found to be rated very important or important. Several items deemed very important or important were either not discussed or not sufficiently discussed in orientation.

Conclusion: The information obtained demonstrates the vast amount of information that adjunct clinical faculty want and need in an orientation.

Medical Termination of Pregnancy: Law and Controversies in the United States and Australia.

J Law Med

Barrister, Castan Chambers, Melbourne, Australia; Professor of Law and Professorial Fellow in Psychiatry, University of Melbourne; Honorary Professor of Forensic Medicine, Monash; Adjunct Professor, Southern Cross University.

This editorial reviews the changes over two decades in the United States and Australia in relation to the law governing access to drugs enabling medical termination of pregnancy. It also scrutinises three contentious decisions by the United States Supreme Court between 2022 and 2024 in relation to abortion. It argues that the receptive environment in the United States Supreme Court, as it is currently constituted, to challenges to the lawfulness of terminations of pregnancy and abortion medications is likely to inspire comparable challenges as part of the "Abortion Wars" in other countries, including Australia.

We report the case of a 63-year-old man with impaired fasting glucose who was unable to lose weight, engage in exercise or omit refined carbohydrates from his diet until he initiated the Mantram Repetition Program (MRP). Four months following implementation, the patient had lost weight and fasting glucose levels decreased to near normal. These parameters continued to improve at nine months.

Background And Objectives: Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs), including Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), represent a major global health challenge. Arrhythmias such as Ventricular Tachycardia (VT), Ventricular Fibrillation (VF), Atrial Fibrillation (AF), Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs), and Premature Atrial Contractions (PACs) frequently complicate ACS, needing effective management strategies. Omega-3 fatty acids have shown potency in preventing sudden cardiac death by modulating arrhythmias, but their acute effects in ACS patients remain controversial.

BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi) represent a cornerstone in melanoma therapy due to their high efficacy. However, the emergence of resistance causes a significant challenge to their clinical utility. This study aims to investigate the potential of diclofenac as a sensitizer for BRAFi therapy in melanoma and to elucidate its underlying mechanism.

The integration of nanotechnology into antiretroviral drug delivery systems presents a promising avenue to address challenges posed by long-term antiretroviral therapies (ARTs), including poor bioavailability, drug-induced toxicity, and resistance. These limitations impact the therapeutic effectiveness and quality of life for individuals living with HIV. Nanodrug delivery systems, particularly nanoemulsions, have demonstrated potential in improving drug solubility, enhancing bioavailability, and minimizing systemic toxicity.
