Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the most common procedure performed worldwide and remains the gold standard for symptomatic gallstones. The most common complication obser ved during this procedure is gallbladder perforation resulting in spillage of stones and bile into peritoneal cavity. In order to avoid such complications, gallbladder is commonly extracted in an endobag. The current literature review was conducted to assess the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of glove endobags. PubMed and Google Scholar databses were searched to find relevant studies from January 1990 to December 2017. Search terms used were 'glove endobag' and 'laparoscopic cholecystectomy'. Literature suggests glove endobag is an effective and comparatively inexpensive compared to commercially prepared endobags.

As a result of gallbladder cancer being rare, it is often an understudied disease. There is lack of information particularly about long-term outcomes after resection during either laparoscopic or open surgery techniques [4]. There is also little data on the ways in which surgical techniques can be improved to further aid patients diagnosed with gallstones or other indications for cholecystectomy, and resulting positive histopathology.

Study Objective: To show 3 different techniques for achieving an endobag morcellation without adding extra time and cost to the surgery.
Design: Stepwise demonstration of the 3 techniques with narrated video footage.
Setting: Morcellation is a useful procedure for fragmenting and extracting specimens during laparoscopic surgery without the need to perform a laparotomy.

We compared two transumbilical (TU) routes of surgical specimen retrieval in women with ovarian masses treated via laparoscopy: a bag made from a surgical glove and lateral transabdominal (LTA) retrieval employing a standard endobag. A total of 109 women undergoing laparoscopic surgery to treat benign adnexal masses were retrospectively evaluated between 2014 and 2017. In total, 57 masses were removed via the TU route and 52 via the LTA route.
