Researchers offer Through the Diamond Threshold, a culturally relevant, community-based training program to increase awareness and promote healing related to substance use disorders (SUD) among American Indians (AIs). For providers, this program seeks to promote greater cultural responsiveness, empathy, cultural humility, and effectiveness in SUD treatment provision. Largely interactive in nature, the activities offer an opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in an AI experience through the use of stories, music, a traditional meal, and experiential exercises. Twenty-six participants (the majority AI) associated with helping professions participated in a two-day program and then met in focus groups to discuss and report their views concerning the effectiveness of the program. Findings suggest that use of an immersive training experience, the centering of AI traditions and collectivism, as well as attention to historical context, were cited as key components in the success of the training. Several AI communities later used the program in a number of different venues and with a variety of participants.

Objective: To investigate the color stability of a one-shade resin-based composite material (RC) and a glass-ionomer cement (GIC) after staining with plaque detectors (PDs) with different formulations and delivery forms.
Materials And Methods: Rectangular-shaped specimens (7 × 3 × 2 mm) were produced with RC (Venus Diamond One, Kulzer) and GIC (Fujy IX GP, GC) (n = 30). Further, the following PDs were used on the specimens: (1) tablets (T; Plaq-Search, TePe); (2) mouthwash (M; Plaque Agent, Miradent); and (3) light-curing liquid (L; Plaque test, Ivoclar).

Silver gallium sulfide (AgGaS) is a ternary ABX-type semiconductor featuring a direct bandgap and high chemical stability. Structurally resembling diamond, AgGaS has gained considerable attention as a highly promising material for nonlinear optical applications such as second harmonic generation and optical parametric oscillation. In attempts to expand the research scope, on the one hand, AgGaS-derived bulk materials with similar diamond-like configurations have been investigated for the enhancement of nonlinear optics performance, especially the improvement of laser-induced damage thresholds and/or nonlinear coefficients; on the other hand, nanoscale AgGaS and its derivatives have been synthesized with sizes as low as the exciton Bohr radius for the realization of potential applications in the fields of optoelectronics and lighting.
