In this study, the chemical composition, genotoxic, cytotoxic and antibacterial-modulating activities of the (NPpE) extract was evaluated. The fingerprint chromatogram was determined using HPLC-DAD. The NPpE Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), as well as that of antimicrobial drugs in the presence and absence of the extract, were evaluated using the microdilution method against Gram positive bacteria. assays with mice were used for the determination of the extract's genotoxicity and cytotoxicity. The presence of the polyphenol catechin was confirmed in the extract. The extract showed significant antimicrobial activity (MIC ≤ 1000 µg mL) against and . When the NPpE was associated with several antimicrobials, the MIC of most of these were significantly reduced (P < 0.001) demonstrating good prospective usage in antimicrobial therapy. The extract has mutagenic and cytotoxic potential, however, further studies should be performed to confirm their toxicity.

[18F]Tetrafluoroborate: a new NIS PET/CT radiopharmaceutical. An overview focused on differentiated thyroid cancer.

Eur Thyroid J

January 2025

G Treglia, Repubblica e Cantone Ticino Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale, Bellinzona, Switzerland.

Background: In relapsing differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), the in vivo evaluation of natrium-iodine symporter (NIS) expression is pivotal in the therapeutic planning and is achieved by [131/123I]Iodine whole-body scan. However, these approaches have low sensitivity due to the low sensitivity due to the low resolution of SPECT. [18F]Tetrafluoroborate (TFB) has been proposed as a viable alternative, which could outperform [131/123I]Iodine scans owing to the superior PET resolution.

As the global economy expands, waterway transportation has become increasingly crucial to the logistics sector. This growth presents both significant challenges and opportunities for enhancing the accuracy of ship detection and tracking through the application of artificial intelligence. This article introduces a multi-object tracking system designed for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), utilizing the YOLOv7 and Deep SORT algorithms for detection and tracking, respectively.

Background: Historically, soil-transmitted helminth (STH) control and prevention strategies have relied on mass drug administration efforts targeting preschool and school-aged children. While these efforts have succeeded in reducing morbidity associated with STH infection, recent modeling efforts have suggested that expanding intervention to treatment of the entire community could achieve transmission interruption in some settings. Testing the feasibility of such an approach requires large-scale clinical trials, such as the DeWorm3 cluster randomized trial.

Residents' willingness and awareness to participate in internet+nursing service in China: A meta-analysis.

Medicine (Baltimore)

January 2025

Department of Geriatric Cardiology Nursing, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.

Background: The internet + nursing service is an important initiative for implementing the strategy of healthy China and actively responding to the aging of the population. However, the current literature on residents' awareness and willingness to participate is insufficient and presents large variations and limitations. Therefore, this study aims to systematically evaluate the awareness and willingness of Chinese residents to participate in internet + nursing service to comprehensively understand the level of awareness and acceptance of this emerging service model among Chinese residents and to provide strong support for relevant policy formulation and service optimization.
