Objectives: To determine the influence of sexual maturation status on adiposity indicators of children and adolescents.
Results: 2412 individuals participated, 1285 (47.4%) males and 1408 (52.6%) females. There was moderate to weak correlation between age and adiposity indicators for both sexes. By analyzing the relationship between age and body fat indexes adjusted for Sexual Maturation Status, several changes were observed, mainly in girls. Precocious maturation was associated with increased adiposity indicators in girls, whereas late maturation was associated with decreased adiposity indicators in both sexes. Precocious maturation was associated with increased adiposity indicators in girls, whereas late maturation was associated with decreased adiposity indicators in both sexes.

Background: Muscle and adipose tissue are the most critical indicators of beef quality, and their development and function are regulated by noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs). However, the differential regulatory mechanisms of ncRNAs in muscle and adipose tissue remain unclear.
Results: In this study, 2,343 differentially expressed mRNAs (DEMs), 235 differentially expressed lncRNAs (DELs), 95 differentially expressed circRNAs (DECs) and 54 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRs) were identified in longissimus dorsi muscle (LD), subcutaneous fat (SF) and perirenal fat (VF) in Qinchuan beef cattle.

Background And Aims: To assess the relationship between body composition indicators and inflammatory biomarkers in children and adolescents of the GENOBOX study.
Methods And Results: Anthropometry data from 264 subjects from the subsample of Zaragoza (Spain) included: weight, height, waist circumference, body mass index and triponderal index. Body composition was determined by Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA), obtaining visceral adipose tissue, fat mass index and lean mass index.

Background And Aims: The adipocyte-derived adiponectin (APN) has potent insulin-sensitizing and anti-inflammatory properties. The adipose tissue is known to be the main source for APN in the circulation, but sites and mechanisms which remove APN from blood are still unknown in humans.
Methods And Results: We reviewed APN data obtained in previous studies in which the inter-organ exchange of amino acids and cytokines was measured in our laboratory.

Obesity, recognized as a metabolic disease and a global epidemic, calls for novel pharmacological interventions. Menthol, an organic compound, has shown promise in increasing energy expenditure and has been proposed as a potential anti-obesity drug. While preclinical studies have demonstrated menthol's preventive effect on body mass gain, none have investigated its efficacy in treating obesity.

This review aims to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the interaction between NAFLD, insulin resistance (IR), and MetS, with a focus on identifying therapeutic targets. A comprehensive review of existing literature on NAFLD, IR, and MetS was conducted.
