A 75-year-old man presented with deterioration of right eye vision for 6 months. He had no relevant medical history. Fundus examination revealed subretinal fluid, fibrosis, and subretinal hemorrhages. Ocular coherence tomography of the right macula illustrated an underlying subretinal lesion with internal lamellae, resembling trabecular bone elsewhere in the body. Bruch's membrane was clearly intact beneath the lesion, indicating an extrachoroidal location. The lesion appeared highly reflective on B-scan ultrasonography, consistent with ossification. Although initially misdiagnosed as choroidal osteoma, this lesion represents in-vivo intraocular osseous metaplasia at the site of neovascular age-related macular degeneration. The authors believe that similar lesions may have been misdiagnosed as "atypical" osteoma caused by failure to identify their extrachoroidal location.

Mitomycin C is an alkylating agent with the ability to suppress fibroblast proliferation and activity, making it a powerful antifibrotic. It has therefore become popular in glaucoma filtering surgeries, used both intraoperatively during bleb formation and postoperatively as an adjunct to bleb needling. This report presents a rare but serious risk of bleb needling with Mitomycin C at the slit lamp, where inadvertent movement of the patient resulted in an orbital injection.

An approximately 26-year-old, suspected female, red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) was presented with a history of chronic ocular changes of the left eye likely secondary to blunt trauma resulting in blindness and phthisis bulbi. Ophthalmic evaluation of OS revealed a large intraocular mass, 3+ aqueous flare indicating anterior uveitis, and severely decreased intraocular pressure measuring 5 mmHg. Ocular ultrasound revealed an abnormal, spherical shaped and hyperechoic lens, as well as hyperechoic material or a mass lesion in the posterior segment.

This study aims to investigate the changes in ocular biomechanical factors in patients with inactive thyroid eye disease (TED) who undergo orbital decompression surgery. This observational prospective study include 46 eyes of 31 patients with inactive TED undergoing orbital decompression at a tertiary university hospital from October 2021 to September 2023. All participants underwent a full ophthalmic examination, and a biomechanical examination was performed using corvis ST at baseline, 1 month, and 3 months postoperatively.

Methods: An experimental study design employing a cadaver model for orbital compartment syndrome was used to assess the efficacy of an MFTB. Elevated orbital compartment pressures were created in 12 orbits of 6 fresh cadaver heads.
