Mediated communication enabled by information technology has immense potential to positively affect personal health. Although existing theories of technology use and adoption have advanced our understanding of information technology, they do not fully address voluntary adoption in community settings, adoption across the lifespan, and privacy concerns. Drawing on evidence collected during more than five years of field research, we start to address those issues, especially as they pertain to HealthIT (e.g. mHealth, e-Health, and/or connected health) use. Our goals include advancing theoretical discussions on technology acceptance and offering practical applications useful for medical professionals serving patients of all ages. We discuss our findings related to mandatory adoption learning heuristics, pressured voluntary adoption, digital immigrants' self-reported technology use and skill, perceived versus actual support, concerns about online privacy and information sharing, potential loss of control over personal information, online-offline boundary incongruence, and adoption barriers related to technological features.

Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) serves an essential role in treating biliary diseases, especially in choledocholithiasis. However, due to the limited human lifespan, there remains a paucity of clinical investigations on ERCP treatment in patients over 90 years old.

Aim: To explore the effectiveness and safety of ERCP in super-older patients aged ≥ 90 years with choledochal stones.

Recent ageing research has projected the lifespan and proportion of postmenopausal women living in low- and middle-income countries to substantially increase over the years, especially on the African continent. An important subgroup within the African postmenopausal population is those with female genital circumcision/mutilation/cutting (FGC). Practised across 31 African nations, FGC holds cultural significance as it is deemed essential to marriage and successful womanhood.

The first 1000 days of a child's life, spanning from the time of conception until 2 years of age, are a key period of laying down the foundations of optimum health, growth, and development across the lifespan. Although the role of health prevention programs targeting families and children in the first 1000 days of life is well recognized, investments in this key period are scarce, and the provision of adequate health care services is insufficient. The aim of this viewpoint is to provide a holistic digital health framework cocreated with policy makers, health care professionals, and families to support more effective efforts and health care programs dedicated to the first 1000 days of life as the first line of prevention.

The adoption of residential renewable energy is pivotal for achieving the 'Net Zero' goal, yet financial assessments of household investments in this area remain complex due to dynamic market conditions. This study introduces a novel closed-form financial valuation framework for residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, explicitly addressing the uncertainties of electricity market price fluctuations (market risk) and energy policy changes (policy risk) using Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM). A case study in France demonstrates the framework's application, revealing that the discount rate is the most influential factor in solar PV valuation, followed by system lifespan and policy-driven Feed-in Tariff (FiT) rates.
