Cefepime-tazobactam (FEP-TAZ) consists of cefepime combined with tazobactam, a penicillanic acid-sulfone recognized as an established beta-lactamase inhibitor. This study aims to investigate the in-vitro effectiveness of FEP-TAZ against cefepime-resistant clinical isolates of Escherichia coli (E. coli).

Tissue factor (TF) is a cell surface protein that plays a role in blood clotting but is also commonly expressed in many cancers. Recent research implicated TF in cancer proliferation, metastasis, angiogenesis, and immune escape. Therefore, TF can be considered a viable therapeutic target against cancer.

Background: Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) presents with a change in personality, behaviour and language and is the second most common cause of young-onset dementia after Alzheimer's disease. Loss of function mutations in GRN, encoding progranulin (PGRN), causes FTD in the heterozygous state, accounting for 5-10% of all FTD cases. PGRN is essential for normal lysosomal function and neuronal survival.

Background: Curcumin (Cur) is a polyphenol phyto-compound found in turmeric () that inhibits tumorigenesis by introducing apoptosis and restricting cell survival and proliferation. This in vitro research article focuses on the pharmacodynamic interactions of Cur combined with the commercial drug doxorubicin (Doxo) to enhance the cytotoxicity of Doxo at lower doses against triple-negative breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231) with the chemo-protective effect against normal HEK293 cells. In this study, we observed the dose-dependent cytotoxicity, increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, and increased chromatin condensation in combination doses compared to single doses.

Extramammary Paget disease (EMPD) is a rare skin cancer that typically occurs in the anogenital area of older people. Since efficacy of treatments for metastatic or unresectable EMPD remains poor, development of a novel therapeutic approach is strongly desired. However, the lack of EMPD models has hampered investigation of EMPD.
