Rank-1 modifications applied -times ( 1) often are performed to achieve a rank- modification. We propose a rank- modification for enhancing computational efficiency. As the first step toward a rank- modification, an algorithm to perform a rank-2 modification is proposed and tested. The computation cost of our proposed algorithm is in where is the cardinality of the matrix of interest. We also propose a general rank- update algorithm based on the Sturm Theorem, and compare our results to those of the direct eigenvalue decomposition and of a perturbation method.

Background: Women involved in the criminal legal system have elevated rates of opioid use disorder, which is treatable, and HIV, which is preventable with pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). There are significant social and structural barriers to integrated delivery of PrEP and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), limiting women's ability to access these life-saving interventions. In a two parallel-arm randomized controlled trial, we are assessing an innovative eHealth delivery model that integrates PrEP with MOUD and is tailored to meet the specific needs of women involved in the criminal legal system.

Acid fracturing fluids can effectively improve the microporous structure of coal, thereby enhancing the permeability of coal seam and the efficiency of gas drainage. To explore the effects of acid fracturing fluids on the pore structure modification of coal samples from different coal ranks, hydrochloric acid-based acid fracturing fluids were prepared and used to soak four types of medium to high-rank coal in an experiment. High-pressure mercury intrusion and liquid nitrogen adsorption techniques results demonstrated that the acid fracturing fluid can effectively alter the pore structure of coal.
