Large-scale gene-environment interaction (GxE) discovery efforts often involve analytical compromises for the sake of data harmonization and statistical power. Refinement of exposures, covariates, outcomes, and population subsets may be helpful to establish often-elusive replication and evaluate potential clinical utility. Here, we used additional datasets, an expanded set of statistical models, and interrogation of lipoprotein metabolism via nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based lipoprotein subfractions to refine a previously discovered GxE modifying the relationship between physical activity (PA) and HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C).

Background: Monkeypox (Mpox), is a disease of global public health concern, as it does not affect only countries in western and central Africa.
Aim: To assess Burundi healthcare workers (HCWs)s' level of knowledge and confidence in the diagnosis and management of Mpox.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study an online survey designed mainly from the World Health Organization course distributed among Burundi HCWs from June-July 2023.
Background: Animals coexist with complex microbiota, including bacteria, viruses, and eukaryotes (e.g., fungi, protists, and helminths).

However, the molecular basis of these differences and how they impact tolerance to nutrient deprivation is still under investigation. In this work, we use to demonstrate that sex-specific differences in fat tissue metabolism are driven, in part, by dimorphic expression of the Integrated Stress Response (ISR) transcription factor, ATF4.

Conventional transthoracic echocardiographic measurements like global longitudinal strain (GLS) has shown promise in distinguishing CA, but with limited specificity. We conducted a study to investigate the performance of a computer vision detection algorithm in across multiple international sites.
