Four species of freshwater crabs from three genera and two families ( Huang, Ahyong & Shih, 2017, Dai, 1997, , and Ng & Dudgeon, 1992) are documented from Macau for the first time. One new species, , is described. The large flap on the male first gonopod terminal segment sets it apart from all other known congeners except Cheng, Yang, Zhong & Li, 2003, from Fujian. Characters of the carapace, male first gonopod and size, however, clearly differentiate these two species. Preliminary genetic studies also suggest that the two are not closely related. A neotype is designated for . The taxonomic status of is also discussed. Notes on the general biology and conservation status of these crabs are also included.

Saline-alkaline aquaculture plays a crucial role in the ecological restoration of saline soils, yet high water salinity can significantly restrict the growth of cultured organisms. The Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) is typically farmed in freshwater, to evaluate the effects of salinity stress on these crabs, this study conducted laboratory aquaculture experiments at salinities of ≤ 0.5 (freshwater), 6, 12, and 18 ‰.

The use of glyphosate (Gly) has caused unnecessary economic losses to the aquaculture industry, but research on the effect of Gly on is very limited. The aim of this study is to reduce the negative effects of Gly, reduce yield loss, and improve economic benefits through nutritional feed control technology. The experiment involved 80 crabs randomly divided into four groups: control group, Gly group (48.

The removal of back armor marks the first stage in the comprehensive processing of river crabs. However, the current low level of mechanization undermines the effectiveness of this process. By integrating robotic systems with image recognition technology, the efficient removal of dorsal armor from river crabs is anticipated.

The genus Hypolobocera Ortmann, 1897, is represented by 38 species and is distributed in the south-western Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, including the twenty-two registered species for Colombia. We describe and illustrate a new species of Hypolobocera Ortmann, 1897 from the foothills of the Western Cordillera, Antioquia Department, Cauca River basin, Colombia, which increases in this country the number of Hypolobocera species to twenty-three. The species distribution of this genus covers an extensive area of the Colombian territory, including most of Colombia's major river basins.
