MATLAB (MATrix LABoratory) is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment and fourth-generation programming language. MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C, Java, Fortran and Python. Electrochemistry is a branch of chemistry that studies the relationship between electricity, as a measurable and quantitative phenomenon, and identifiable chemical change, with either electricity considered an outcome of a particular chemical change or vice versa. MATLAB has obtained a wide range of applications in different fields of science and electrochemists are also using it for solving their problems which can help them to obtain more quantitative and qualitative information about systems under their studies. In this review, we are going to cast a look on different applications of MATLAB in electrochemistry and for each section, a number of selected articles published in the literature will be discussed and finally, the results will be summarized and concluded.

In stochastic blocking electrochemistry, adsorptive collisions of nano and micro-particles with an ultramicroelectrode (UME) generate steps of decreasing current overlaid on the current-time (-) baseline of an electroactive mediator reacting at the UME. The step amplitude (Δ) induced by particle blockage informs about its size, while collision frequency correlates with particle transport. However, because most particles arrive at the UME faster than the acquisition speed of conventional electrochemical instruments, current steps appear vertical.

The Generative Pre-Trained Transformer known as ChatGPT-4 has undergone extensive pretraining on a diverse data set, enabling it to generate coherent and contextually relevant text based on the input it receives. This capability allows it to perform tasks from answering questions and has attracted significant interest in material sciences, synthetic chemistry, and drug discovery. In this work, we posed four advanced task-specific problems to ChatGPT, which were recently published in leading journals for topics in analytical chemistry, spectroscopy, bioimage super-resolution, and electrochemistry.

Background: MLH1, one of the MMR proteins, is linked to DNA replication, its role being to repair the incorrect DNA sequences and to replace them with proper ones. The loss of the MLH1 gene expression is part of Lynch syndrome which can lead to a series of cancers like colorectal and endometrial ones. The aim of this paper is to correlate the levels of MLH1 in four different bio-logical fluids with clinicopathological features in colorectal cancer patients in order to predict them with high probability.

In-situ liquid cell transmission electron microscopy (LCTEM) with electrical biasing capabilities has emerged as an invaluable tool for directly imaging electrode processes with high temporal and spatial resolution. However, accurately quantifying structural changes that occur on the electrode and subsequently correlating them to the applied stimulus remains challenging. Here, we present structural dissimilarity (DSSIM) analysis as segmentation-free video processing algorithm for locally detecting and quantifying structural change occurring in LCTEM videos.

The purpose of this paper is to propose a new methodology to devise a custom-made hydrogen-based proton-exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system for a class of experimental fixed-wing small unmanned aerial vehicles (SUAVs). The proposed fuel cell provides three times higher flight endurance than the conventional battery-based powertrain. The chosen SUAV represents a class of high-altitude UAVs, having an operational altitude of 4500 m (14,760ft), cruising speed of 12-20 m/s (39.
