Despite advances in understanding molecular and cellular changes in the aging nervous system, the upstream drivers of these changes remain poorly defined. Here, we investigate the roles of non-neural tissues in neuronal aging, using the cutaneous PVD polymodal sensory neuron in Caenorhabditis elegans as a model. We demonstrate that during normal aging, PVD neurons progressively develop excessive dendritic branching, functionally correlated with age-related proprioceptive deficits.

Background: Modified thoracoabdominal nerves block through perichondrial approach (M-TAPA) is a trunk block that has been gaining attention for managing postoperative pain following abdominal surgeries since its first report in 2019. We conducted a scoping review on M-TAPA, aiming to comprehensively evaluate existing research, identify the gaps in knowledge, and understand the implications of M-TAPA.

Cutaneous angiosarcoma is a rare and aggressive malignancy originating from endothelial cells lining blood vessels in the skin. The authors present a comprehensive case report of cutaneous angiosarcoma with infiltration of the scalp and skull, with an abnormal presentation highlighting the clinical features, diagnostic challenges, treatment and surgical strategies, and outcomes. The case underscores the complexity of managing this aggressive disease involving critical anatomical structures and emphasizes the need for a multidisciplinary approach to optimal patient care.

Background: Melioidosis cases are increasing in Southeast Asia, posing a significant challenge owing to the rising number of diabetic and immune compromised patients. Pneumonia is the most common presentation of melioidosis, while cutaneous melioidosis is rare.

Objectives: We report a case of primary cutaneous melioidosis (PCM) that eventually required intensive care unit (ICU) management.

Loeys-Dietz syndrome (LDS) is a genetic connective tissue disorder associated with vascular involvement and craniofacial, skeletal, and cutaneous abnormalities. Herein, we describe the case of a 28-year-old female who presented with a pulsatile mass in her abdomen. Imaging studies revealed multiple aneurysms, including a 53-mm abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and tortuosity of the intracranial arterial vasculature.
