A methodological guide, updated in January 2018, outlines the responses jointly organized by the prison administration and the Ministry of Health to meet the health needs of prisoners. These care needs are significant and diverse, as are those of the rest of the population. The resources available for psychiatric care / support are often lower than the needs identified in the health units. Similarly, care on the geriatric side often becomes necessary.

Background: Best practice of infection prevention and control (IPC) is a hallmark for the patient care in health care settings, but it is a major problem in developing countries like Ethiopia where resources are limited. Background: Every year, 60% of deaths from diarrhoeal disease occur in low and middle-income countries due to inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene. In these countries, diarrhoeal diseases are the second leading cause of death in children under five, excluding neonatal deaths. The approximately 100,000 people residing in the Bentiu Internally Displaced Population (IDP) camp in South Sudan have previously experienced water, sanitation, and hygiene outbreaks, including an ongoing Hepatitis E outbreak in 2021.
