A new sesquiterpene () and a new monoterpene (), together with thirteen known compounds (-) were isolated from an ethanol extract of the roots of Sieb. et Zucc. The structures of compounds and were elucidated using HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. Anti-inflammatory effects of the isolated compounds were evaluated in terms of inhibition of nitric oxide, tumour-necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 production in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Compounds - and - significantly inhibited the levels of NO, TNF-α and IL-6 in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells from concentrations of 3 μM to 30 μM.

The Amazon forest is the largest source of isoprene emissions, and the seasonal pattern of leaf-out phenology in this forest has been indicated as an important driver of seasonal variation in emissions. Still, it is unclear how emissions vary between different leaf phenological types in this forest. To evaluate the influence of leaf phenological type over isoprene emissions, we measured leaf-level isoprene emission capacity and leaf functional traits for 175 trees from 124 species of angiosperms distributed among brevideciduous and evergreen trees in a central Amazon forest.

Since ancient times, many plant species within the genus have been used due to their numerous health benefits, such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, or diuretic activity. While many of the species within this genus were well known and described, All. or Pannonian thyme remains relatively unexplored despite its unique chemical composition and activity.

Two unprecedented sesquiterpene and monoterpene heterodimers and ten previously undescribed sesquiterpenoids, artemordosins A-L (1-12), as well as ten known sesquiterpenoids (13-22), were obtained from Artemisia ordosica. Their structures were elucidated based on comprehensive analyses of NMR, IR, HRESIMS, GIAO NMR calculations with DP4+ probability analysis, and ECD calculations. Notably, artemordosins A and B (1 and 2) were the first examples of cadinane-monoterpene dimers, and artemordosin A (1) was a cadinane-myrceane heterodimer with a 6/6/6/6 ring system formed by [4 + 2] cycloaddition, while artemordosin B (2) was a 4,5-seco-cadinane-artemisane dimer connected through a C-5-O-C-4' linkage.

Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) alters the gaseous composition of air surrounding packaged goods to prevent deleterious oxidation associated reactions. MAP has been adopted for the storage of cannabis, though a recent study revealed little difference in terpene content under MAP conditions. Questions regarding its efficacy for preservation of high value compounds like terpenes and cannabinoids lost during postharvest storage remain.
