Mass-spectrometry-based phosphoproteomics has revolutionized phosphoprotein analysis and enhanced our understanding of diverse and fundamental cellular processes important for human health and disease. Because of their relative scarcity, phosphopeptides must be enriched before analysis. Many different enrichment methods and materials have been described, and many reports have made claims about the advantages of particular materials and methodological variations. We demonstrate an effective and highly reproducible single-step enrichment method using an off-the-shelf preparation of calcium titanate. Using two different cell lines and replicate analysis, we show that our method achieves a purity and depth of analysis comparable or superior to a widely used TiO-based method at a reduced cost and effort. This method provides a new and immediately available tool for expanding the reach of phosphoproteomic inquiry.

Objectives: Develop a sustainable bovine hydroxyapatite dental ceramic with the addition of titanium dioxide (TiO) nanoparticles (5 % and 8 % by weight), analyzing the outcome of this addition to the microstructure, as well as its mechanical and chemical properties, in order to evaluate whether they satisfy the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 6872:2015 for dental ceramics or not.
Methods: Disks were obtained through uniaxial followed by isostatic pressing from bovine hydroxyapatite powder and TiO nanoparticles and sintered at 1300ºC for 2 h. Three experimental groups were developed (HA, HA+5 %TiO and HA+8 %TiO) and subjected to X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), indentation fracture (IF), biaxial flexural strength (BFS) and chemical solubility test.

Calcium titanate (CTO) photocatalysts were synthesized using a sol-gel method by adopting a cost-efficient, rapid calcination technique. The CTOs were characterized by X-ray diffractometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption, porosimetry measurements, scanning/transmission electron microscopy, and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Their photocatalytic activity was assessed through the photocatalytic degradation of phenol, oxalic acid, and chlorophenol under UV light exposure, using a commercial CTO as a reference.

Piezocatalysis, a transformative mechanochemical energy conversion technique, has received considerable attention over the past decade for its role in processes such as hydrogen evolution from water. Despite notable progress in the field, challenges remain, particularly in the areas of limited piezocatalysis efficiency and limited availability of materials requiring a non-centrosymmetric structure. Here, a pioneering contribution is presented by elucidating the piezocatalytic properties of hollow CaTiO nanocuboids, a centrosymmetric material with a nominally nonpolar state.
