In spite of the introduction of new examination methods (positive contrast demonstration, tomography, CAT) difficulties may be encountered in the instrumental diagnosis of smaller neurinomas of the auditory nerve. That is why one has already for some time tried to reach the pontine-angle with the endoscope. Until now, this has been done by the transpyramidal-retrolabyrinthal route. Since this access is too complicated for diagnostic purposes, the authors have chosen the retrosinal-suboccipital route and proved its suitability by examinations in corpses. This is the same route of access which is used by most neurosurgeons for carrying out operations to the pontine-angle tumour.

Introduction: Tranexamic acid (TXA) is an antifibrinolytic drug commonly used in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Intravenous (IV) and topical TXA therapy have been extensively studied and shown to reduce blood loss, length of hospital stay, and blood transfusion rates following TKA. Despite the extensive literature regarding IV and topical TXA in orthopedics, there is a current dearth of studies analyzing oral usage.

Hybrid polyionic complexes (HPICs) are colloidal structures with a charged core rich in metal ions and a neutral hydrophilic corona. Their properties, whether as reservoirs or catalysts, depend on the accessibility and environment of the metal ions. This study demonstrates that modifying the coordination sphere of these ions can tune the properties of HPICs by altering the composition of the complexing block or varying formulation conditions.

Topical application of ophthalmic drugs remains to be the preferred delivery method. Eye drops lead the pharmaceutical forms due to ease of application. Despite the poor bioavailability of drugs administered topically, especially related to the dilution and excretion by tear fluid, the absence of controlled drug delivery, and the poor compliance within pediatric and senior populations, eye drops and ointments are still the first choices in eye--related disorders management.

Changes in the density and organization of fibrous biological tissues often accompany the progression of serious diseases ranging from fibrosis to neurodegenerative diseases, heart disease and cancer. However, challenges in cost, complexity, or precision faced by existing imaging methodologies and materials pose barriers to elucidating the role of tissue microstructure in disease. Here, we leverage the intrinsic optical anisotropy of the Morpho butterfly wing and introduce Morpho-Enhanced Polarized Light Microscopy (MorE-PoL), a stain- and contact-free imaging platform that enhances and quantifies the birefringent material properties of fibrous biological tissues.

Anterior cord syndrome is a rare yet critical neurological condition that poses significant challenges in clinical management. We present the case of a 71-year-old male with a medical history of hypertension, uncontrolled type II diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, and end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis who presented to the emergency department with complaints of chills, back pain, abdominal pain, and vomiting episodes. Based on the severity of the patient's illness, it was decided that inpatient admission would be best.
