Zinc is an important physiological cation, and its misregulation is implicated in various diseases. It is therefore important to be able to image zinc by non-invasive methods such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). In this work, we have successfully synthesized a novel Gd3+-based complex specifically for Zn2+ sensing by MRI.

Widespread geogenic uranium (U) contamination of Indian groundwaters is of serious concern; yet little is known of the dominant forms and release mechanisms of U in these aquifers. Interestingly, manganese (Mn)-rich aquifers, highly buffered by dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and saturated with rhodochrosite [MnCO], have shown low U (

Walnuts possess significant nutritional and economic value. Fast and accurate sorting of shells and kernels will enhance the efficiency of automated production. Therefore, we propose a FastQAFPN-YOLOv8s object detection network to achieve rapid and precise detection of unsorted materials.

One of the key factors of the interaction 'osteoplastic material-organism' is the state of the implant surface. Taking into account the fact that the equilibrium in regeneration conditions is reached only after the reparative histogenesis process is completed, the implant surface is constantly modified. This work is devoted to the numerical description of the dynamic bilateral material-medium interaction under close to physiological conditions, as well as to the assessment of the comparability of the model with and experimental results.

Background: The use of ex vivo assays associated with biomaterials may allow the short-term visualization of a specific cell type response inserted in a local microenvironment. Blood is the first component to come into contact with biomaterials, providing blood clot formation, being substantial in new tissue formation. Thus, this research investigated the physiological blood clot (PhC) patterns formed in 3D scaffolds (SCAs), based on chitosan and 20% beta-tricalcium phosphate and its effect on osteogenesis.
