Background: A number of efforts have been made to tailor behavioral healthcare treatments to the variable needs of patients with low back pain (LBP). The most common approach involves the STarT Back Screening Tool (SBST) to triage the need for psychologically informed care, which explores concerns about pain and addresses unhelpful beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. Such beliefs that pain always signifies injury or tissue damage and that exercise should be avoided have been implied as psychosocial mediators of chronic pain and can impede recovery.

Prion diseases, particularly sporadic cases, pose a challenge due to their complex nature and heterogeneity. The underlying mechanism of the spontaneous conversion from PrPC to PrPSc, the hallmark of prion diseases, remains elusive. To shed light on this process and the involvement of cofactors, we have developed an in vitro system that faithfully mimics spontaneous prion misfolding using minimal components.

As global demand for meat continues to rise, alternative and sustainable methods of production are being explored. Cultivated meat (CM) is one such alternative that holds potential for sustainable production with less environmental impact. This study develops an approach to evaluate CM production based on agricultural feedstock.

Spatially resolved transcriptomics (SRT) technologies facilitate the exploration of cell fates or states within tissue microenvironments. Despite these advances, the field has not adequately addressed the regulatory heterogeneity influenced by microenvironmental factors. Here, we propose a novel Spatially Aligned Graph Transfer Learning (SpaGTL), pretrained on a large-scale multi-modal SRT data of about 100 million cells/spots to enable inference of context-specific spatial gene regulatory networks across multiple scales in data-limited settings.
