Knee osteoarthritis contributes substantially to worldwide disability. Post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) develops secondary to joint injury, such as ligament rupture, and there is increasing evidence suggesting a key role for inflammation in the aetiology of PTOA and associated functional deficits. Colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1-R) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of musculoskeletal degeneration following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Introduction: Elbow joint is the most common affliction in upper limb tuberculosis (TB). A review of literature shows varying clinical presentations of TB in the elbow, with and without detectable primary foci.
Case Report: We report a rare case of post-traumatic reactivation of latent TB of elbow which mimicked septic arthritis, in a healthy adult who suffered an elbow contusion injury following an road traffic accident.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries do not heal anatomically on their own and often lead to post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA). ACL reconstruction, though effective, can contribute to PTOA, and donor site morbidity remains a concern with autografts. While ACL repair has traditionally shown poorer outcomes (27% failure rate in the 1990s and early 2000s), a recent review of newer techniques shows promising results and no significant differences in patient-reported outcomes between repair and reconstruction.

Intra-articular ankle fracture (IAF) often leads to post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA), resulting in significant long-term morbidity. While previous research has focused on the inflammatory cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases within the synovial fluid fracture hematoma (SFFH), the immune cell populations within SFFH that contribute to PTOA development remain underexplored. This study aimed to characterize the immune cell populations in SFFH to better understand their role in the inflammatory response and potential for inducing lasting cartilage damage.

Our understanding of the pathophysiology of anterior ankle impingement has steadily progressed since the princeps description almost 70 years ago. The same is true of diagnosis and treatment, which have greatly changed over time. The present study provides an update on this pathology, addressing the following questions: Anterior ankle impingement is suspected in case of anterior ankle pain reproducible by palpation and exacerbated by dorsiflexion imposed by the examiner or squatting, and Molloy's sign.
