Multilocular traits exist in a variety of plants and exert important effects on plant yield. Previous genetic studies have shown that multilocular trait of the cultivar Duoshi is controlled by two recessive genes, and . In previous studies, the gene is located on chromosome A07, and the candidate gene is . In this study, a BC4 mapping population for the gene was generated. This population was used to construct genetic linkage maps of the gene using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP), intron length polymorphism (IP) and simple sequence repeat (SSR) methodology. The results showed that the gene was restricted to a 0.63 cM interval. BLAST alignment with revealed the gene was located within a 11.81-16.65 Mb region on chromosome B07. Moreover, the candidate gene (equivalent to ) was cloned by comparing mapping and map-based cloning, and gene was shown to have the ability to restore the bilocular traits in a genetic complementation experiment. The sequencing revealed that a 4961 bp insertion interrupted the coding sequence of the gene, resulting in an increase in locule number. Expression analysis revealed that was expressed in all tissues and the expression level in bilocular plants was significantly higher than that in multilocular plants. In addition, markers closely linked to the gene were developed and used for molecular marker-assisted breeding of multilocular traits.

Background: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) has a high incidence rate and poor prognosis, and currently lacks effective therapies. Recently, peptide-based drugs have shown promise in cancer treatment. In this research, a new endogenous peptide called CBDP1 was discovered in ccRCC and its potential anti-cancer properties were examined.

Electronic address:

Echinococcosis, a zoonotic disease, significantly impacts the liver, with alveolar echinococcosis (AE) often leading to liver fibrosis and, in severe cases, cirrhosis. However, the molecular mechanisms by which AE infection promotes liver fibrosis remain incompletely understood. This study utilized bioinformatic analysis of existing microarray data to explore the shared mechanisms between AE and liver fibrosis and to identify potential therapeutic drug candidates.

Distinguishing tumor maintenance genes from initiation, progression, and passenger genes is critical for developing effective therapies. We employed a functional genomic approach using the Lazy Piggy transposon to identify tumor maintenance genes in vivo and applied this to sonic hedgehog (SHH) medulloblastoma (MB). Combining Lazy Piggy screening in mice and transcriptomic profiling of human MB, we identified the voltage-gated potassium channel KCNB2 as a candidate maintenance driver.

Electronic address:

Cecropin AD (CAD), a hybrid antimicrobial peptide composed of the first 11 residues of cecropin A and last 26 residues of cecropin D, is a promising antibiotic candidate. Therefore, an efficient and convenient method for producing CAD is necessary for commercial applications. The Newcastle disease virus (NDV) has been widely used as a platform for gene delivery and exogenous protein expression.
