Femoral neck fractures in young patients are uncommon but are often associated with surgical challenges and complications. The quality of reduction, more than time to surgery, has the most impact on optimizing outcomes and function. There is no consensus in the best fixation construct for these fractures. Neck shortening and varus collapse are the most common challenges of current fixation options. Use of newer implants is being reported with cautious optimism, and further studies are needed.
