Networks are a promising mechanism for creating systemic change. Studies abound, but do not examine roles and practices to reveal the processes through which networks create transformative capacity. This participatory single case study provides a framework to examine structures, roles and practices. The framework details common network substructures, across which critical practices occur, and provides a typology of specific network practices of curators and sojourners. The primary claim is that a variety of structures and interdependent roles and practices work in concert to support transformation across sites and scales. Results have implications for network design, leadership, practice, and evaluation.

The incidence of chronic enteropathies (CE), in particular food-responsive enteropathies (FRE) in dogs, is on the rise in veterinary practice. The symptoms of these digestive disorders cannot be alleviated with the use of commercial hypoallergenic feeds. The applicability of novel materials in hypoallergenic dog feeds is limited, and edible insects could pose a viable alternative.

As one of the most common solid pediatric cancers, Neuroblastoma (NBL) accounts for 15% of all of the cancer-related mortalities in infants with increasing incidence all around the world. Despite current therapeutic approaches for NBL (radiotherapies, surgeries, and chemotherapies), these approaches could not be beneficial for all of patients with NBL due to their low effectiveness, and some severe side effects. These challenges lead basic medical scientists and clinical specialists toward an optimal medical interventions for clinical management of NBL.

Background: Patients with heart failure (HF) can experience a poor quality-of-life (QOL), recurring hospitalizations, and progressive disease symptoms. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) integrate patients' voices into clinical care, by assessing patient symptoms, function, and QOL. In 2022, PROMs were incorporated into the electronic health record system (Epic) at a large academic hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

In the past decade, conjugated oligoelectrolytes (COEs) and conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs) have emerged at the forefront of active materials in bioanalytical and electrochemical settings due to their unique electronic and ionic properties. These materials possess π-conjugated backbones with ionic functionalities at the ends of their side chains, granting them water solubility and facilitating their processability, exploration, and applications in aqueous environments. In this perspective, the basis for evaluating their figures of merit in selected bioanalytical and electrochemical contexts will be provided and contextualized.

Ultrasound as a Diagnostic Modality in Hand and Wrist Musculoskeletal Pathologies: A Narrative Review.

Indian J Orthop

January 2025

Department of Orthopedics, Hand, and Reconstructive Microsurgery, Olympia Hospital & Research Centre, 47, 47A Puthur High Road, Puthur, Trichy, Tamilnadu 620017 India.

Background: Musculoskeletal ultrasonography of the hand and wrist is becoming the trend in assessing and diagnosing most hand and wrist injuries, soft-tissue mass, and occult fractures. Its advantages include ultra-high frequency probes, noninvasiveness, cost-effectiveness, lack of ionising radiation, and portability. The patients are comfortable doing this procedure in the outpatient department, and visualising the ultrasound images increases their confidence.
