Gabapentin has variable pharmacokinetics (PK), which contributes to difficulty in dosing and increased risk of adverse events. The objective of this study was to leverage gabapentin concentrations from therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) to develop a population PK (popPK) model and characterize significant covariates that impact gabapentin PK. Background/objectives: Dietary protein intake can potentially influence renal function. This study aimed to elucidate the association between dietary protein supplementation and a decrease in the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in Japanese stroke patients undergoing rehabilitation.
Methods: From July 2017 to June 2021, 60 patients undergoing post-stroke rehabilitation were randomly assigned to a rehabilitation alone or rehabilitation nutrition group, which received 120 g Reha-Time Jelly after each session.

Patients undergoing regular in-center hemodialysis (HD) have much lower quality of life (QoL) than healthy individuals. However, there is limited knowledge about the impact of specific common complications of hemodialysis, particularly muscle spasms on the overall well-being of patients.

Compared to immediate-release tacrolimus (IR-Tac), the LCPT formulation, with delayed absorption, offers higher bioavailability and a smoother time-concentration curve, potentially reducing beta-cell stress. : This randomized pilot trial compared de novo immunosuppression with IR-Tac (twice daily) and LCPT (once daily).

The addition of ketoanalogues (KAs) to a low-protein diet has been shown to mitigate the progression of pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease (CKD). The addition of inulin and calcium citrate may add further benefits, given their nephroprotective effects. In this study, we tested the changes in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), CKD symptoms, body composition, and biochemical parameters after 6 months of diet supplementation with Cetolán III, a combination of KA, inulin, and calcium citrate.
