Published: October 2018

Pseudomonas sp. strain MWU13-2860 was isolated from the rhizosphere of wild cranberry plants and is not closely related to Pseudomonas spp. frequently isolated from soil. Its genome is 7.2 Mbp, with 61.24% G+C content, and contains homologs that may encode the carbohydrate-degrading enzymes xylanase, laccase, cellulase, alginate lyase, amylase, and chitinase.

Infections caused by antibiotic-drug-resistant microorganisms are a major global health concern, and they result in millions of deaths every year. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of such drug-resistant microbial strains, and new and effective antimicrobial agents are desperately needed to combat infections caused by MRSA. In the search for effective anti-MRSA agents, the leaves of Citrus grandis (Rutaceae), also known as C.

Bacterial social interactions play crucial roles in various ecological, medical, and biotechnological contexts. However, predicting these interactions from genome sequences is notoriously difficult. Here, we developed bioinformatic tools to predict whether secreted iron-scavenging siderophores stimulate or inhibit the growth of community members.

A thorough polyphasic taxonomic study, integrating genome-based taxonomic approaches, was carried out to characterize the RB5 strain isolated from root nodules of growing on the coastal dunes of Bousfer Beach (Oran, Algeria). The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed that strain RB5 had the highest similarity to LMG27940 (98.94%) and IzPS32d (98.

The emergence and prevalence of hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (hvKP) have proposed a great challenge to control this infection. Therefore, exploring some new drugs or strategies for treating hvKP infection is an urgent issue for scientific researchers. In the present study, the clpV gene deletion strain of hvKP (ΔclpV-hvKP) was constructed using CRISPR-Cas9 technology, and the biological characteristics of ΔclpV-hvKP were investigated to explore the new targets for controlling this pathogen.
