Background: Incorporation of the patient voice into drug development has been recognized as fundamental; recent legislation has addressed the importance of collecting patient experience data. Qualitative patient interviews conducted in tandem with clinical trials, often in later phases, are among the most common means of eliciting these data. To assess aspects of patient experience earlier in development, we conducted semi-structured qualitative interviews following participation in the phase 1 ACU-001 (INTERCEPT-AD) trial, a study evaluating the safety and tolerability of the Aβ oligomer-targeting monoclonal antibody ACU193, among a subset of participants with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild Alzheimer's disease (AD) and their study partners.

Background: Unstable diametaphyseal radius fractures (DMRFs) can be prone to complications, and treatment strategies are heterogeneous. Studies are difficult to interpret as definitions of the diametaphyseal junction zone (DMJZ) are impractical for clinical use, imprecise, or prone to error.
Methods: We introduce the forearm fracture index (FFI) to define DMRFs in radiographs and ultrasound.

Background Despite the paramount importance of oral health, individuals undergoing treatment for opioid use disorder face unique challenges beyond traditional addiction care. This qualitative study explores the challenges Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) clients in Australia encounter when accessing oral health care, aiming to understand the underlying factors and identify effective strategies for integrating oral health into an OTP. Methods Semi-structured interviews were conducted with OTP clients, OTP clinicians and oral health clinicians using tested interview guides.

Background: While immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapies can significantly improve outcomes for patients with recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (RM-HNSCC), only about 15-20% benefit from such treatments. Clinical tests that guide the use of ICIs are therefore critically needed. OncoPrism-HNSCC was developed to address this need.
