RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) has become a cornerstone of transcriptomics, providing detailed insights into gene expression across diverse biological conditions and sample types. However, RNA-seq data are often confounded by batch effects, systematic non-biological variations that compromise data reliability and obscure true biological differences. To address these challenges, we introduce ComBat-ref, a refined batch effect correction method designed to enhance the statistical power and reliability of differential expression analysis in RNA-seq data.

However, how nanotwinned structures affect the physical properties of functional materials remains almost unexplored. Tears of the posterior medial meniscus root (PMMR) are common in older patients and reportedly contribute to rapid joint degeneration over time. Recognition of these tear types and the appropriate diagnosis through clinical exam and diagnostic imaging have improved significantly in recent years, as have surgical techniques to address them. Standardized post-operative rehabilitation protocols specific to PMMR repair have not been established or well understood in the scientific literature.

Selective delivery of therapeutic modalities to tumor cells via binding of tumor-selective cell-surface biomarkers has empowered substantial advances in cancer treatment. Yet, tumor cells generally lack a truly specific biomarker that is present in high density on tumor tissue while being completely absent from healthy tissue. Rather, low but nonzero expression in healthy tissues results in on-target, off-tumor activity with detrimental side effects that constrain the therapeutic window or prevent use altogether.
