Nucleosome assembly proteins (Naps) influence chromatin dynamics by directly binding to histones. Here we provide a comprehensive structural and biochemical analysis of a Nap protein from Caenorhabditis elegans (CeNap1). CeNap1 naturally lacks the acidic N-terminal tail and has a short C-terminal tail compared to many other Nap proteins. Comparison of CeNap1 with full length and tail-less constructs of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Nap1 uncovers the role of these tails in self-association, histone binding, and Nap competition with DNA for H2A-H2B. We find that the presence of tails influences the stoichiometry of H2A-H2B binding and is required to complete the interactions between H2A-H2B and DNA. The absolute stoichiometry of the Nap protein and H2A-H2B complex is 2:1 or 2:2, with only a very small population of higher-order oligomers occurring at 150 mM NaCl. We also show that H3-H4 binds differently than H2A-H2B and that an (H3-H4) tetramer can simultaneously bind two Nap protein homodimers.

Background: Intestinal-type gastric cancer (IGC) and diffuse-type gastric cancer (DGC) exhibit different prevalence rates between sexes. While environmental factors like Helicobacter pylori infection and alcohol consumption contribute to these differences, they do not fully account for them, suggesting a role for host genetic factors.
Methods: We conducted a meta-analysis to explore associations between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the risk of IGC or DGC.

: The nucleic acid-based product (NAP) portfolio is expanding continuously and provides safer curative options for many disease indications. Nucleic acid-based products offer several advantages compared to proteins and virus-based products. They represent an emerging field; thus, their quality control and regulatory landscape is evolving to ensure adequate quality and safety.

Flowers, serving as the reproductive structures of angiosperms, perform an integral role in plant biology and are fundamental to understanding plant evolution and taxonomy. The growth and organogenesis of flowers are driven by numerous factors, such as external environmental conditions and internal physiological processes, resulting in diverse traits across species or even within the same species. Among these factors, genes play a central role, governing the entire developmental process.

One of the most prevalent human infections is (), which affects more than half of the global population. Although infections are widespread, only a minority of individuals develop severe gastroduodenal disorders. The global resistance of to antibiotics has reached concerning levels, significantly impacting the effectiveness of treatment.

Astragalin (AST), a natural flavonoid, exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and antioxidant properties. However, its effects and molecular mechanisms in inflammatory pain remain unclear. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of AST on a Complete Freund's Adjuvant (CFA)-induced inflammatory pain mouse model and to elucidate its potential mechanisms.
