[Why and how to explore respiratory allergies in asthmatic patients?].

Published: November 2017

Respiratory allergy is commonly associated with asthma, and affects the short and long-term prognosis of asthma. Its research is an integral part of the evaluation of the asthmatic patient and should be systematic. It can be detected by a multi-allergenic test which must be completed by a careful examination and a complete allergenic assessment in case of positivity. The diagnosis of a respiratory allergy is crucial for long-term management because it may require the implementation of environmental measures, specific allergenic immunotherapy or biotherapy.
