The gas/particle phase partitioning behavior of NH/NH and other semivolatile constituents was measured by a custom-designed Denuder-MOUDI-Denuder integrated sampling system in Toronto, Canada. In this setup, upstream denuders were used to capture alkaline and acidic gaseous components, and particle phase components were captured by the filters on MOUDI stages. Downstream denuders captured any alkaline and acidic gases that exited the MOUDI apparatus, likely representing semivolatile constituents. In the ambient gas phase HCOOH was the most abundant acidic gas, with an average mixing ratio ∼2-3 times higher than that of SO and HNO. It was found that the majority (49-96%) of filter-collected NH volatilized during collection. NO volatilization could only explain 0.9-15% of NH loss from the filters. Instead, a strong correlation and nearly 1:1 molar ratio between downstream HCOO and NH indicated that most of the semivolatile NH was originally balanced by organic acids in the ambient particle phase. The thermodynamic properties of HCOOH/HCOO suggest that it should not have been present at high levels in the ambient particle phase, and we interpret its detection in the downstream denuder as evidence for larger organic acids that reacted to generate HCOOH prior to our offline measurement.

This study investigated the physicochemical and emulsifying properties of chickpea protein isolate (CPI)-citrus pectin (CP) conjugates formed via the Maillard reaction across varying reaction durations. CPI and CP were conjugated under controlled dry-heating conditions, and the resulting conjugates were characterized by measuring their particle size, zeta potential, solubility, thermal stability, surface hydrophobicity, and emulsifying properties. The results showed that as reaction duration increased, the particle size and zeta potential of the CPI-CP conjugates increased significantly, reaching a maximum particle size of 1311.

This study investigates the synthesis of ZnSnO@SiO@5-FU nanoparticles as an additive for bone fillers in dental maxillofacial reconstruction. ZnSnO nanoparticles were synthesized and coated with a SiO shell, followed by the incorporation of 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU), aimed at enhancing the therapeutic properties of classical fillers. Structural analysis using X-ray diffraction confirmed that ZnSnO was the single crystalline phase present, with its crystallinity preserved after both SiO coating and 5-FU incorporation.

This study presents a comparative analysis of the influence of Ce-Gd and Gd-Y additions on the microstructural evolution, mechanical properties, and electrochemical behavior of extruded Mg-3Zn-Mn-Ca alloy rods. Despite the frequent incorporation of Gd, Y, and Ce as alloying elements in magnesium alloys, the systematic examination of their combined effects on Mg-Zn alloys has been limited. Our findings reveal that both Gd-Ce and Gd-Y additions significantly enhance the mechanical properties of Mg-3Zn-Mn-Ca alloy, although through differing mechanisms.

This paper summarizes the results of investigations into heterogeneous P23/P91 welds after long-term creep exposure at temperatures of 500, 550 and 600 °C. Two variants of welds were studied: In Weld A, the filler material corresponded to P91 steel, while in Weld B, the chemical composition of the consumable material matched P23 steel. The creep rupture strength values of Weld A exceeded those of Weld B at all testing temperatures.
