Objective: Simple renal cysts (SRCs) represent the most frequently occurring type of renal cysts, frequently observed in the elderly population. While generally considered benign, SRCs may sometimes be connected to comorbid conditions such as hypertension, aortic diseases, and renal dysfunction. This research aims to investigate the factors influencing the development of SRCs in kidney donors and the associated risks.

Background: The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is a brand-new lipid parameter that has been used to assess various cardiovascular events. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of AIP in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH).
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine affiliated Renji Hospital, and included data from 125 PH patients treated during 2014-2018.
Background: The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is a newly identified metabolic marker for atherosclerosis. However, there are inconsistent conclusions regarding the relationship between AIP and hypertension.
Methods: The study subjects were sourced from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database from 2017 to 2020.

Obesity is a rapidly growing health problem worldwide, affecting both adults and children and increasing the risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD). In addition, obesity is closely linked to chronic kidney disease (CKD) by either exacerbating diabetic complications or directly causing kidney damage. Obesity-related CKD is characterized by proteinuria, lipid accumulation, fibrosis and glomerulosclerosis, which can gradually impair kidney function.

Background: Understanding the association of tobacco product use with subclinical markers is essential in evaluating health effects to inform regulatory policy. This is particularly relevant for noncigarette products (eg, cigars, pipes, and smokeless tobacco), which have been understudied because of their low prevalence in individual cohort studies.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 98 450 participants from the Cross-Cohort Collaboration-Tobacco data set.
