Objective: Race and gender differences in help seeking are well-established; however, reasons for these differences are less clear. This study examined race and gender differences in two potential contributors-perceptions of illness and attitudes toward treatment-in a sample of marginalized young adults.
Method: Interviews were conducted with young adults (age 18-25) with prior involvement in public systems of care and mood disorder diagnoses (n = 60). A quantitative interview assessed illness perceptions and attitudes followed by a qualitative interview focused on perceptions of mental illness and treatment. Analyses examined quantitative differences across four race/gender subgroups-White women (n = 13), White men (n = 6), women of color (n = 27), and men of color (n = 14), then qualitative results were reviewed for a subset of cases (n = 30) to understand differences revealed in the quantitative analyses.
Results: Women of color had lower scores on illness understanding compared to other groups and men of color had lower scores on chronicity. Attitudes including propensity toward help seeking and stigma resistance were lowest in men of color, followed by women of color. Qualitative findings supported that men of color viewed their symptoms as less chronic and managed symptoms by changing their mindset rather than formal treatments. White participants talked more about their illnesses as chronic conditions and spoke more positively of treatment.
Conclusion And Implications For Practice: Race/gender differences were identified, particularly in relation to views of mental illness and stigma. Messaging that highlights independence and strength in relation to managing symptoms may be particularly important for young people of color. This study aimed to evaluate patients' satisfaction with the esthetic outcomes of combined endodontic and prosthetic treatments for devitalized or dyschromic teeth, a condition influenced by various intrinsic and extrinsic factors that present a growing concern in modern dentistry. A total of 104 patients, including 43 men and 61 women, underwent treatment using lithium disilicate restorations for esthetic zones and zirconium oxide restorations for regions with higher occlusal demands. Patient satisfaction was evaluated through a post-treatment questionnaire, classifying responses as either "satisfied" or "dissatisfied".

Apolipoprotein E (ApoE), especially the ApoE4 isotype, is suggested to influence the severity of respiratory viral infections; however, this association is still unclear. The presence of allele ε4 impacts the development of flu-like syndromes. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the Apo E4 isoform on the severity and duration of flu-like syndromes, including the coronavirus disease COVID-19.

Background: Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) in medicine and women faculty have lower 10-year promotion rates than their White and male peers, despite controlling for productivity metrics. Promotion standards vary across institutions, but there is likely a common need to improve transparency and consistency while mitigating bias, inequity, and the harm of additional equity work that is commonly expected of Black, Indigenous, People of Color and women faculty (the so-called minority tax).
Methods: A promotion advisory committee consisting of clinical and research faculty at all ranks specified expectations for a faculty member at the associate or full professor ranks, with 10-15 examples given for each "mission" (clinical, research, and education).

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as solubilizing media of intense interest due partly to their easily tailorable physicochemical properties. Extensive H-bonding between the constituents in a two-constituent system is the major driving force for the formation of the DES. Addition of ethanolamine (MEA), a compound having H-bonding capabilities, to the DESs composed of a terpene [menthol (Men) or thymol (Thy)] and a fatty acid [-decanoic acid (DA)] results in an unprecedented increase in dynamic viscosity due to the extensive rearrangement in the H-bonding network and other interactions within the system, while the liquid mixture still behaves as a Newtonian fluid.

Introduction: Congenital colour vision deficiency (CVD), known as colour blindness, is a common visual problem affecting around 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women. It is known that people who have red-green CVD, the most common phenotype, can have difficulty differentiating colours and this can impact the ability to perform clinical tasks related to patient care. The objective of this scoping review is to understand the extent and type of evidence and the impact on clinical practice and patient safety arising from congenital CVD in healthcare professionals.
