is an important genus as it is a source for antibiotics, enzymes, and probiotics. Therefore, several studies are targeted on this genus in order to understand its diversity abundance in different soil environments. In present study, we investigated the diversity of at species level using culturable approach in soils collected at different climatic zones of India and identified 20 prominent members of genus species that are able to grow in different media types under same culture conditions. Results also showed that the species diversity of changes according to the soil microenvironment under the influence of different climatic conditions. As a pilot study using culturable approach, we made an attempt to investigate the shift in species diversity present in the Indian soils experiencing a climatic gradient over a large geographic area.

Climate-driven distribution shifts of Iranian amphibians and identification of refugia and hotspots for effective conservation.

Sci Rep

December 2024

Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Faculty of Natural Resources, University of Jiroft, Jiroft, Iran.

This study investigates the potential impacts of climate change on the distribution of Iranian amphibian species and identifies refugia and biodiversity hotspots to inform effective conservation strategies. The study employed ensemble species distribution models to assess the impacts of climate change on 19 Iranian amphibian species. We analyzed future scenarios (2041-2060 & 2081-2100) under a high-emission pathway to identify potential range shifts and refugia (areas with stable or newly suitable climate).

Three-component diels-alder reaction through palladium carbene migratory insertion enabled dearomative C(sp)-H bond activation.

Owning to the versatile nature in participation of Diels-Alder (D-A) reactions, the development of efficient approaches to generate active ortho-quinodimethanes (o-QDMs) has gained much attention. However, a catalytic method involving coupling of two readily accessible components to construct o-QDMs is lacking. Herein, we describe a palladium carbene migratory insertion enabled dearomative C(sp)-H activation to form active o-QDM species through the cross-coupling of N-tosylhydrazones with aryl halides.

Plant Species Richness and the Root Economics Space Drive Soil Fungal Communities.

Systematic Botany and Functional Biodiversity, Institute of Biology, Leipzig University, Leipzig, Germany.

Trait-based approaches have been increasingly used to relate plants to soil microbial communities. Using the recently described root economics space as an approach to explain the structure of soil-borne fungal communities, our study in a grassland diversity experiment reveals distinct root trait strategies at the plant community level. In addition to significant effects of plant species richness, we show that the collaboration and conservation gradient are strong drivers of the composition of the different guilds of soil fungi.

Microorganisms underpin numerous ecosystem processes and support biodiversity globally. Yet, we understand surprisingly little about what structures environmental microbiomes, including how to efficiently identify key players. Microbiome network theory predicts that highly connected hubs act as keystones, but this has never been empirically tested in nature.
