Understanding of predator feeding ecology, interactions among co-occurring predator species, and seasonal changes is critical for conservation management given the important role that predators play in shaping their ecosystems, but is lacking for most regions of the world. Dietary studies have demonstrated varying conclusions in the role that resource partitioning plays in the maintenance of predator communities due to complex inter-related factors that may shape prey use. We used DNA metabarcoding on 581 scat samples to determine the dietary composition, similarity, diversity, and niche overlap of eight predator species (Tibetan wolf (Canis lupus), snow leopard (Panthera uncia), Tibetan brown bear (Ursus arctos pruinosus), Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx), Tibetan fox (Vulpes ferrilata), red fox (V.

Paranoia (believing others intend harm) and excess teleological thinking (ascribing too much purpose) are non-consensual beliefs about agents. Human vision rapidly detects agents and their intentions. Might paranoia and teleology have roots in visual perception? Using displays that evoke the impression that one disc ('wolf') is chasing another ('sheep'), we find that paranoia and teleology involve perceiving chasing when there is none (studies 1 and 2) - errors we characterize as social hallucinations.

Zinner syndrome is a rare congenital malformation of the Wolffian duct with seminal vesicle cyst, ipsilateral renal agenesis and ejaculatory duct obstruction, seen in less than 0.002 % of the male population. An increased awareness among clinicians, urologists, and radiologists is essential, as early diagnosis and management can impact fertility outcomes.

Ovine progressive pneumonia and caprine arthritis encephalitis together are referred to as small ruminant lentiviruses (SRLVs). Along with caseous lymphadenitis (CL), SRLV are 2 of the so-called "iceberg diseases" of sheep and goats. In the case of SRLV, healthy tissue can be replaced with unproductive lymphoid tissue causing loss of milk, poor growth in lambs, swollen and painful joints, and shortened productive lives of infected animals.

The objectives of the present work were the investigation of gastrointestinal parasitic infections in dogs in small ruminant farms in Greece, the elucidation of potential predictors for these infections and the description of practices related to administration of anthelmintics to dogs. This study was carried out in 444 small ruminant farms in Greece. Faecal samples were collected directly from the rectum of the dogs in the farms.
