A calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumour (CEOT) is a rare benign odontogenic tumour of epithelial origin accounting for approximately 1% of all odontogenic tumours. The intraosseous form occurs more commonly in the posterior mandible whereas the extraosseous form is common in the anterior maxilla. CEOT is often asymptomatic and presents with a painless swelling of the mandible.

Prompt diagnoses and treatments help prevent complications, improve patients' quality of life, and ensure a normal life expectancy.

Tree-ring width chronologies of Du Tour from near the upper treeline in the Western Sayan, Southern Siberia are found to have an exceptional (below mean-3SD) multi-year drop near 1700 CE, highlighted by the seven narrowest-ring years in a 1524-2022 regional chronology occurring in the short span of one decade. Tree rings are sometimes applied to reconstruct seasonal air temperatures; therefore, it is important to identify other factors that may have contributed to the growth suppression. The spatiotemporal scope of the "nosedive" in tree growth is investigated with a large network of (14 sites) and Ledeb.

Recent publications, including one in this issue of Cell, suggest that plasma membrane rupture is an active process mediated by ninjurin-1 (NINJ1) oligomers that dissolve membranes and/or assemble large pores.
