Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of different root canal obturation techniques by micro-CT.

Methods: Forty single-canal upper incisors were collected and decoronated to obtain 12 mm root segments. The root canals were prepared by using ProTaper rotary files and allocated into 4 groups randomly(n=10), then obturated with gutta-percha and(or) iRoot SP by cold lateral compaction (CLC), continuous wave condensation (CWC), single core (SC), sealer-only buckfill (SoB) techniques, respectively. Each tooth was then scanned with micro-CT, and the percentage of 3D volume and 2D slices of voids and gaps were calculated 1 week later. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software package.

Results: Percentage of cross-sections with voids and gaps in CWC group was significantly less than others (P<0.05) , and it had a significantly greater filling area in 3D volume in whole root canal, middle third and coronal third levels (P<0.05), while SOB group had the largest filling quality in apical third levels (P<0.05).

Conclusions: No filling technology can avoid voids. CWC technology provides the best filling performance.

As the world electrifies, global battery production is expected to surge. However, batteries are both difficult to produce at the gigawatt-hour scale and sensitive to minor manufacturing variation. As a result, the battery industry has already experienced both highly-visible safety incidents and under-the-radar reliability issues-a trend that will only worsen if left unaddressed.

This study evaluated the performance of a deep-learning-based model that predicted cooking loss in the semispinalis capitis (SC) muscle of pork butts using hyperspectral images captured 24 h postmortem. To overcome low-scale samples, 70 pork butts were used with pixel-based data augmentation. Principal component regression (PCR) and partial least squares regression (PLSR) models for predicting cooking loss in SC muscle showed higher R values with multiplicative signal correction, while the first derivative resulted in a lower root mean square error (RMSE).

Liaoning cashmere goat is an outstanding breed in China primarily for cashmere production, with strict controls against genetic outflow. Melatonin(MT) is a key factor affecting cashmere growth, and preliminary transcriptome sequencing indicated that melatonin upregulates the expression of the PIP5K1A gene in skin fibroblasts. To predict the physicochemical properties of PIP5K1A in Liaoning cashmere goats, ascertain the tissue localization of PIP5K1A in their skin, and explore the role and mechanism of PIP5K1A in the proliferation of skin fibroblasts.

Rice productivity and quality are increasingly at risk in arsenic (As) affected areas, challenge that is expected to worsen under changing climatic conditions. Free-Air Concentration Enrichment experiments revealed that eCO, eO, and eTemp, whether acting individually or in combination with low and high As irrigation, significantly impact rice yield and grain quality. Elevated CO₂ significantly increased shoot biomass, with minimal impact on root biomass, except under low As irrigation conditions.

: Although BRAF inhibitors, such as vemurafenib, produce a marked response in patients with advanced melanoma with a BRAF V600 mutation, they eventually develop resistance to this treatment. To address this issue, vemurafenib is increasingly combined with the MEK inhibitor cobimetinib, leading to improved response rates and enhanced survival. However, this treatment modality is associated with numerous side effects.
