Investigative interviews are complex, dyadic, and social interactions typically studied by evaluating interviewers' questioning strategies. In field settings, interviewers naturally vary in their interviewing practice. Thus, it is important to conduct research reflective of idiosyncrasies in witnesses, interviewers, and the resulting unique pairings. This study explored sources of variation in an interview by using a "round-robin" design. Each session of the study involved five witnesses observing five separate events. Witnesses were then simultaneously, but independently interviewed by four different interviewers, or completed a self-administered written interview. This sequence was repeated until each witness had seen every event and had been interviewed by each interviewer. Over nine sessions ( = 45) this produced 225 total interviews. Individual interview performance (accuracy and level of detail) as well as experience (subjective ratings) were then analyzed in relation to the typical performance of the interviewer, the witness, the event, and the unique paring. We found that witnesses and interviewers could have an effect on statement quality; however, the unique interview experience variance had the greatest influence on interview performance. This study presents the round-robin methodology as a useful tool to study realistic variation in interviewer, witness, and dyad behavior. Background: Healthcare systems globally are expanding community pharmacy services to meet patient needs and reduce healthcare costs. In England this includes helping community pharmacies to provide integrated professional services but concerns persist over quality of care. This study aimed to identify priorities from key stakeholders for improving the quality of professional community pharmacy services.

Purpose: Patient experiences of brachytherapy for locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) are widely variable, with reports of difficult and traumatic experiences and aspects of care requiring improvement. The aim of this study was to develop patient care recommendations and consult with key stakeholders to review, refine and prioritise recommendations.

Methods: Phase 1: Patient care recommendations were developed from qualitative exploratory study data.

Currently, network applications are experiencing explosive growth, and various types of network applications are showing a trend of varied demands for quality of network service. However, the existing Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) marking methods have not taken into account the diversified Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of network applications. This article introduces a multi-queue ECN marking strategy targeting multiple QoS guarantees.

Enhancing task execution: a dual-layer approach with multi-queue adaptive priority scheduling.

Article Synopsis
  • Efficient task execution is essential for optimizing computing resources, and the article presents a new algorithm called Multi-Queue Adaptive Priority Scheduling (MQAPS) designed for this purpose.
  • MQAPS uses a dual-layer system with a ready queue (RQ) for new tasks prioritized by importance, and a secondary queue (SQ) for previously executed tasks with lower priority.
  • Simulation results indicate that MQAPS outperforms traditional scheduling methods like round-robin and multi-level scheduling by improving CPU utilization and providing a fairer approach to task management.

Background: 'The Clinical Ethics Advisory Group' (CEAG) is the clinical ethics support body for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals National Health Service Foundation Trust. A significant change in CEAG's way of working occurred over the past 5 years as a result of Court decisions, increasing public expectations and an increase in CEAG's paediatric case flow.

Purpose: Review historical data: (a) as a useful benchmark to look for the early impact of significant service changes and (b) to seek possible reference ('sentinel') cases for use with a posited practical (casuistic) case-based reasoning model.
