The investigation of dermocytograms by a modified method of the "skin window" in 101 patients with different square surfaces of deep burns has shown that the dynamics of mononuclear content is dependent on the injury degree. Lower parameters of mononuclear content in dermocytograms during the course of treatment correspond to the disturbance of reparative capacities of the organism in groups of patients with the complicated course of the disease. The "skin window" test can be used for the treatment since it shows the degree of the burn trauma dynamics and character of its course, facilitates the prognosis of complications.

Collective migration of cancer cells is often interpreted using concepts derived from the physics of active matter, but the experimental evidence is mostly restricted to observations made in vitro. Here, we study collective invasion of metastatic cancer cells injected into the mouse deep dermis using intravital multiphoton microscopy combined with a skin window technique and three-dimensional quantitative image analysis. We observe a multicellular but low-cohesive migration mode characterized by rotational patterns which self-organize into antiparallel persistent tracks with orientational nematic order.

Current dorsal skin flap window chambers with flat glass windows are compatible with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and multiphoton microscopy (MPM) imaging. However, light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) performs best with a cylindrical or spherical sample located between its two 90° objectives and when all sample materials have the same index of refraction (). A modified window chamber with a domed viewing window made from fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), with n similar to water and tissue, was designed.

Laser therapy has become the golden standard of port wine stain (PWS), but complete clearance of resistant PWSs is still difficult. The application of photodynamic therapy (PDT) in the treatment of PWS shows potential in clinical practice, especially for large-area and deep lesions. In this work, in vivo animal experimental investigation on the coupling effect of PDT with multi-pulse laser (MPL) irradiation on the treatment of PWS was conducted by using a dorsal skin window chamber model.

Background: Transpathology highlights the interpretation of the underlying physiology behind molecular imaging. However, it remains challenging due to the discrepancies between in vivo and in vitro measurements and difficulties of precise co-registration between trans-scaled images. This study aims to develop a multimodal intravital molecular imaging (MIMI) system as a tool for in vivo tumour transpathology investigation.

Volumetric tumor delineation and assessment of its early response to radiotherapy with optical coherence tomography.

Texture analyses of optical coherence tomography (OCT) images have shown initial promise for differentiation of normal and tumor tissues. This work develops a fully automatic volumetric tumor delineation technique employing quantitative OCT image speckle analysis based on Gamma distribution fits. We test its performance using immunodeficient mice with dorsal skin window chambers and subcutaneously grown tumor models.
