Tinea blepharociliaris is a rare dermatophyte infection affecting the eyelashes and eyelids, often misdiagnosed as blepharitis, eczema, or bacterial infection, leading to ineffective treatments and recurrent symptoms. We report a case of a 10-year-old girl with erythematous plaques and fine scaling on the eyelids and eyelashes, initially suspected to have facial tinea or contact dermatitis. Direct mycological examination confirmed the presence of fungal filaments and spores, with culture identifying as the causative organism.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory condition driven by plaque-associated microorganisms, where uncontrolled bacterial invasion and proliferation impair host immune responses, leading to localized periodontal tissue inflammation and bone destruction. Conventional periodontal therapies face challenges, including incomplete microbial clearance and the rise of antibiotic resistance, limiting their precision and effectiveness in managing periodontitis. Recently, nanotherapies based on polymeric materials have introduced advanced approaches to periodontal antimicrobial therapy through diverse antimicrobial mechanisms.

Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is an inflammatory skin disease with multifactorial etiology, involving genetic and environmental factors. Many conventional therapies for SD (ie, topical antifungals, topical corticosteroids) are associated with incomplete efficacy, frequent and sometimes rapid disease recurrence, and restrictions on duration of therapy and anatomic sites of application. This may be because they cannot target multiple disease processes and/or are limited by safety considerations.
