The aim of this study was to evaluate two-dimensional and Doppler ultrasonographic changes of feline ovaries before and during puberty. Nine, 3-month-old female cats were followed until puberty (Day 1). Two-dimensional and Doppler ultrasound evaluations of the ovaries were carried out on Days -50, -20, -7 and 1. Longitudinal and transverse sections of the ovaries were measured and all anechoic spherical structures were considered to be follicles. The number of follicles >1 mm and the maximum diameter of the largest follicle were recorded. Peak systolic velocity and end diastolic velocity of intraovarian arteries were also measured to automatically calculate the resistive index (RI). The mean ovarian longitudinal diameter increased gradually throughout the study from 8.6 to 10.7 mm (p < 0.05). While four cats presented multiple anechoic spherical structures <1 mm diameter throughout the study, the remaining five animals had these structures only on Days -50 and -20. On Days -20, -7 and 1, the mean number of follicles were 1.4 ± 0.7, 2.5 ± 0.8 and 4.8 ± 1 respectively (p < 0.01). The largest follicles at the same time points were 1.1 ± 0.2 mm, 1.9 ± 0.3 mm and 2.6 ± 0.5 mm respectively (p < 0.05). The RI of the intraovarian arteries declined throughout the study period (p < 0.01). It is concluded that, in female cats, ovarian dimensions, follicle number and intraovarian blood flow increased from 3 months of age to puberty.

The effects of T4 are mainly manifested by positive ino- and chronotropism. The syndrome accompanying hypothyroidism in rabbits (impaired myocardial contractility and reduced ejection capacity) is caused by a deficiency of thyroid hormones - especially T4. The study group consisted of a total of 41 animals: 15 males and 26 females, ranging in age from 2 months to 8 years, with echocardiogram showing reduced fractional shortening (<30%), with normal results of heamatological and biochemical tests.

Germanium (Ge), the next-in-line group-IV material, bears great potential to add functionality and performance to next-generation nanoelectronics and solid-state quantum transport based on silicon (Si) technology. Here, we investigate the direct epitaxial growth of two-dimensional high-quality crystalline Ge layers on Si deposited at ultralow growth temperatures ( = 100-350 °C) and pristine growth pressures (≲10 mbar). First, we show that a decreasing does not degrade the crystal quality of homoepitaxial Ge/Ge(001) by comparing the point defect density using positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy.

Backgrounds: Due to the high mortality and hospitalization rate in chronic heart failure (HF), it is of great significance to study myocardial nutrition conditions. Amino acids (AAs) are essential nutrient metabolites for cell development and survival. This study aims to investigate the associations and prognostic value of plasma branched-chain amino acid/aromatic amino acid ratio (Fischer's ratio, FR) in patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤ 50%.

Fibroepithelial polyps are rare benign tumors originating from the mesoderm and are more commonly found in the renal pelvis and distal ureter and less frequently in the proximal ureter or bladder. This case report presents a fibroepithelial polyp occurring in the bladder of the fetus, showcasing its two-dimensional ultrasound, three-dimensional ultrasound, color Doppler, and spectral Doppler ultrasound findings, providing a reference for the accurate diagnosis of this condition.

Rationale And Objectives: To develop an interpretable deep learning (XDL) model based on superb microvascular imaging (SMI) for the noninvasive diagnosis of the degree of interstitial fibrosis (IF) in chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Methods: We included CKD patients who underwent renal biopsy, two-dimensional ultrasound, and SMI examinations between May 2022 and October 2023. Based on the pathological IF score, they were divided into two groups: minimal-mild IF (≤25%) and moderate-severe IF (>25%).
