We proposed an ultrasensitive specific terahertz sensor consisting of two sets of graphene micro-ribbon with different widths. The interference between the plasmon resonances of the wide and narrow graphene micro-ribbons gives rise to the plasmon induced transparency (PIT) effect and enables ultrasensitive sensing in terahertz region. The performances of the PIT sensor have been analyzed in detail considering the thickness and refractive index sensing applications using full wave electromagnetic simulations. Taking advantage of the electrical tunability of graphene's Fermi level, we demonstrated the specific sensing of benzoic acid with detection limit smaller than 6.35 µg/cm. The combination of specific identification and enhanced sensitivity of the PIT sensor opens exciting prospects for bio/chemical molecules sensing in the terahertz region.

Timely and accurate detection of trace mycotoxins in agricultural products and food is significant for ensuring food safety and public health. Herein, a deep learning-assisted and entropy-driven catalysis (EDC)-Argonaute powered fluorescence single-particle aptasensing platform was developed for ultrasensitive detection of fumonisin B (FB) using single-stranded DNA modified with biotin and red fluorescence-encoded microspheres as a signal probe and streptavidin-conjugated magnetic beads as separation carriers. The binding of aptamer with FB releases the trigger sequence to mediate EDC cycle to produce numerous 5'-phosphorylated output sequences, which can be used as the guide DNA to activate downstream Argonaute (Ago) for cleaving the signal probe, resulting in increased number of fluorescence microspheres remaining in the final reaction supernatant after magnetic separation.

Early diagnosis of tumors allows effective treatment of primary cancers through localized therapeutic interventions. However, developing diagnostic tools for sensitive, simple, and early tumor (especially less than 2 mm in diameter) detection remains a challenge. Herein, we presented a biomarker-activatable nanoprobe that enabled a near-infrared (NIR) photothermally amplified signal for fluorescence imaging and urinalysis of tumor.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder with a very long duration, posing a serious threat to people's life and health. To date, no medicine that can cure or reverse the disease has been developed or reported, so early diagnosis and timely intervention are essential. The concentration of Phosphorylated tau181 (P-tau181) in blood has been approved by FDA as a standard for assisting clinical diagnosis of AD.

Background: Estriol (E3) is a common estrogen responsible for regulating the female reproductive system, but excessive amount can pose health risks to humans and wild life. Therefore, sensitive and accurate detection of estriol level is crucial. A novel competitive ECL immunosensor based on a dual signal amplification strategy of AuNPs@GO@SmMoSe and Gd(MoO) was fabricated for ultrasensitive detection of estriol.

Electronic address:

As a zoonotic virus, highly sensitive detection of monkeypox virus is crucial for its prevention and control due to its rapid increase in cases worldwide and the extremely high risk of virus transmission. In this paper, based on the principle of antigen-antibody specific recognition, an ultrasensitive resonance Raman biosensing probe was prepared using a molecule with the bifunctionality of resonance Raman effect and capturing antibody; and with the strong affinity of the biotin-streptavidin (Bio-SA) system, Bio-antibody and SA test strips were prepared. To match the T-line of the test strip, a portable Raman instrument with a strip-shaped spot was designed.
