A de novo synthetic strategy for the production of oligosaccharides containing 2,3,6-trideoxypyranoglycoside is reported. The key event is the Pd-catalyzed asymmetric diastereoselective hydroalkoxylation of ene-alkoxyallene-linked glycosidic fragments. The utility of this approach was demonstrated by the activation-free, stereodivergent, and convergent synthesis of various 2-deoxyoligosaccharides, as well as their aglycon conjugates.

Despite recent advancements in organic photovoltaics (OPVs), further improvements in power conversion efficiency (PCE) and device lifetime are necessary for commercial viability. Strategies such as optimizing the molecular orientation and minimizing the charge traps of organic films are particularly effective in enhancing photovoltaic performance. In this study, we successfully utilized vacuum electrospray deposition (VESD) to achieve favourable face-on stacking geometries while preserving the integrity of the interfaces in poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT): [6,6]-phenyl-C-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) bulk heterojunction (BHJ) films.

The absence or dysplasia of the iliac artery(IA) is an exceedingly rare condition, with limited cases documented in the literature. In this report, we present a case of hypoplasia of the right external iliac artery (EIA) in a 69-year-old male patient. The patient presented with right lower abdominal pain attributed to an aneurysm of the right internal iliac artery (IIA), yet notably, there was no evidence of lower limb ischemia at the time of consultation.

The presence of N-nitrosamine impurities in pharmaceutical products is well known. In 2019, it resulted in drug recall by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Soon, several groups identified the presence of many N-nitrosamines (NAs) in various Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and drug formulations worldwide.

The understanding of glycans, the third life chain, is widely desired. Naturally, the glycoconjugates are found in heterogeneous forms due to the enzyme competition in the same process. As a result, the synthesis of homogeneous glycans has become one of the trending research topics.

Precision tumor treatment utilizing bacteria: principles and future perspectives.

Appl Microbiol Biotechnol

Department of Ultrasound Medicine, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University, No.569 Xinsi Road, Xi'an, 710038, Shaanxi, China.

Bacteria-based tumor therapy, which releases therapeutic payloads or remodels the tumor's immune-suppressive microenvironment and directly kills tumor cells or initiates an anti-tumor immune response, is recently recognized as a promising strategy. Bacteria could be endowed with the capacities of tumor targeting, tumor cell killing, and anti-tumor immune activating by established gene engineering. Furthermore, the integration of synthetic biology and nanomedicine into these engineered bacteria could further enhance their efficacy and controllability.
