In this paper we prove that under mild conditions a nonautonomous Young differential equation possesses a unique solution which depends continuously on initial conditions. The proofs use estimates in -variation norms, the construction of greedy sequence of times, and Gronwall-type lemma with the help of Shauder theorem of fixed points.

Introduction: Intimate partner sexual violence (IPSV) is sexual violence against women by a current or former sexual partner. Sexual violence among pregnant women is higher in low-income countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), which has numerous negative impacts for both the mother and the growing fetus. There is no recent and distinct information on the magnitude and factors associated with IPSV among pregnant women in SSA.

Glycogen Storage Disease Type I and Bone: Clinical and Cellular Characterization.

Calcif Tissue Int

November 2024

Department of Biotechnological and Applied Clinical Sciences, University of L'Aquila, Via Vetoio, Coppito 2, 67100, L'Aquila, Italy.

Glycogen storage disease (GSD) is the most prevalent inherited disorder of glycogen metabolism for which no causal treatment is available. In recent years, thanks to the improved clinical management, the life expectancy of these patients extended, disclosing previously unidentified adverse conditions in other organs. In this study, we evaluated the clinical bone complications and the cellular responses in 20 patients (aged 14.

Article Synopsis
  • A study in Ethiopia reveals that nearly half (48.9%) of women aged 15-49 lack adequate knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding HIV/AIDS despite ongoing health information efforts.
  • The research highlights significant geographical variations in HIV/AIDS-KAB, identifying clusters of women with inadequate knowledge primarily in the Somali region and other areas.
  • Methodologically, the study utilized data from the 2016 Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey, employing advanced spatial analysis techniques to explore the predictors of inadequate HIV/AIDS understanding among women.

Objective: What are the motivational underpinnings of solitude? We know from self-report studies that increases in solitude are associated with drops in approach motivation and rises in avoidance motivation, but only when solitude is experienced as non-self-determined (i.e., non-autonomous).

Single-cell genomics in acquired bone marrow failure syndromes.

Blood

October 2023

Hematology Branch, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD.

Mechanistic studies of immune bone marrow failure are difficult because of the scarcity of residual cells, the involvement of multiple cell types, and the inherent complexities of hematopoiesis and immunity. Single-cell genomic technologies and bioinformatics allow extensive, multidimensional analysis of a very limited number of cells. We review emerging applications of single-cell techniques, and early results related to disease pathogenesis: effector and target cell populations and relationships, cell-autonomous and nonautonomous phenotypes in clonal hematopoiesis, transcript splicing, chromosomal abnormalities, and T-cell receptor usage and clonality.
