Arteriovenous malformations (AVM's) of the skin can be acquired post blunt or penetrating trauma. They may clinically mimic basal cell carcinomas and other lesions with overlying telangiectasia. Specific clinical, dermoscopic, and histological clues differentiate these conditions. AVM's may progress to destructive lesions and early surgical intervention is key.

Small intestinal organoids are similar to actual small intestines in structure and function and can be used in various fields, such as nutrition, disease, and toxicity research. However, the basal-out type is difficult to homogenize because of the diversity of cell sizes and types, and the Matrigel-based culture conditions. Contrastingly, the apical-out form of small intestinal organoids is relatively uniform and easy to manipulate without Matrigel.

Mutation of genes related to the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex is detected in 20% of all cancers. The SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex comprises about 15 subunits and is classified into three subcomplexes: cBAF, PBAF, and ncBAF. Previously, we showed that ovarian clear cell carcinoma cells deficient in ARID1A, a subunit of the cBAF complex, are synthetic lethal with several genes required for glutathione (GSH) synthesis and are therefore sensitive to the GSH inhibitor eprenetapopt (APR-246).

Restorative Effects of Short-Chain Fatty Acids on Corneal Homeostasis Disrupted by Antibiotic-Induced Gut Dysbiosis.

International Ocular Surface Research Center, Key Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine, Institute of Ophthalmology, Jinan University, Guangzhou 510632, China; Department of Ophthalmology, The First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, Jinan University, Guangzhou 510630, China. Electronic address:

The gut microbiota plays a crucial regulatory role in various physiological processes, yet its impact on corneal homeostasis remains insufficiently understood. Here, we investigate the effects of antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis (AIGD) and germ-free (GF) conditions on circadian gene expression, barrier integrity, nerve density, and immune cell activity in the corneas of mice. Through RNA sequencing, we found that both AIGD and GF conditions significantly disrupted the overall transcriptomic profile and circadian transcriptomic oscillations in the cornea.

LncRNA-THBS4 affects granulosa cell proliferation and apoptosis in diminished ovarian reserve by regulating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

J Reprod Immunol

December 2024

School of Medical and Life Sciences/Reproductive &Women-Children Hospital, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, No.1166 Liutai Avenue, Wenjiang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province 611137, China; Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital, Affiliated Fifth People's Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Electronic address:

Backgrounds: Recent studies have found Several lncRNAs were proved differential expression in diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) patients, however, the mechanism of DOR caused by lncRNAs is still largely unclear.

Methods: High throughput sequencing was performed in ovarian GCs extracted from women with normal ovarian function and women with DOR. Bioinformation analysis was used to analyze the sequencing data and identify the differential expression of lncRNAs.

Trichoblastic carcinoma, trichoblastoma, trichoepithelioma, and basal cell carcinoma are histologically characterised by basaloid cell proliferation. In this report, we describe the case of a 76-year-old man who presented with trichoblastic carcinoma admixed with histological features of trichoblastoma, trichoepithelioma, and basal cell carcinoma. These tumours may not be situated separately but must be related to each other in terms of tumorigenesis.
