In recent years, deep-network-based hashing has gained prominence in image retrieval for its ability to generate compact and efficient binary representations. However, most existing methods predominantly focus on high-level semantic features extracted from the final layers of networks, often neglecting structural details that are crucial for capturing spatial relationships within images. Achieving a balance between preserving structural information and maximizing retrieval accuracy is the key to effective image hashing and retrieval.

Existing biomedical imaging modalities are often restricted by their substantial size, high costs, and potential risks associated with ionizing radiation exposure. Given these challenges, there is an urgent need for innovative imaging systems that not only excel in detection performance but are also compact, cost-effective, and ensure safety for biomedical applications. In response to these requirements, our research introduces an advanced terahertz (THz) microbolometer array imaging system (MAIS), specifically engineered for biomedical detection.

This paper presents a low-power, second-order composite source-follower-based filter architecture optimized for biomedical signal processing, particularly ECG and EEG applications. Source-follower-based filters are recommended in the literature for high-frequency applications due to their lower power consumption when compared to filters with alternative topologies. However, they are not suitable for biomedical applications requiring low cutoff frequencies as they are designed to operate in the saturation region.

Although the potato genome has been fully sequenced, functional genomics research of potato lags behind that of other major food crops, largely due to the lack of a model experimental potato line. Advanced carbon-metal hybrid materials with controllable electronic and optical properties, as well as chemical reactivities, have attracted significant attention for emerging applications, including energy conversion and storage, catalysis and environmental protection. However, the commercialization of these materials is hampered by several vital problems, including energy-intensive synthesis and expensive chemicals, and inefficient control of their structures and properties. Herein, we report the simple and controllable engineering of nanocarbon-metal self-assembled silver nanocatalysts (SSNs) derived from polycarbonate (PC)-based optical discs using microplasmas under ambient conditions.
