Introduction: Physical therapy education best practice includes the development of adaptive lifelong learners because of a constantly changing health care landscape. The purpose of this study was to identify how self-directed learning (SDL) changes in traditional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students over the course of the didactic curriculum.
Review Of Literature: The Master Adaptive Learning (MAL) framework has been proposed as a framework that physical therapy educators adopt to create and educate physical therapists who embrace continuous change and build a culture of creativity and innovation.

Introduction: Selecting candidates for plastic and reconstructive surgery (PRS) residency is complex, involving academic metrics and intrinsic personal qualities. "Grit"-perseverance and passion for long-term goals may be one of these valued qualities. This study investigates how grit scores relate to securing a PRS residency, hypothesizing that higher grit correlates with greater matching success.

Objective: Adolescents and young adults with chronic diseases face unique challenges during the college years and may consume alcohol and other substances to cope with stressors. This study aimed to assess the patterns of substance use and to determine psychosocial correlates of these behaviors among college youth with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Methods: College youth with T1D were recruited via social media and direct outreach into a web-based study.

Using register data and linked student-level sociometric survey data from the Netherlands, this study examines whether the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on schooling outcomes (track recommendation and track enrollment in the seventh and ninth grades) is conditional on students' academic and social embeddedness in the school setting. We estimated the counterfactual outcomes for the cohort that went through the school transition during the pandemic based on the outcomes of the pre-pandemic cohort, with similar earlier achievements, schools, and social backgrounds. Results show that the pandemic's effect on tracking outcomes is weaker than its effect on student test scores elsewhere reported.
