Superconformal field theories (SCFTs) in dimensions greater than 4 have become an integral part in the general understanding of quantum field theory, with many interesting implications in lower dimensions. They are hard to define using traditional methods, but can be engineered in string theory. Recently, a large class of AdS/CFT dualities has been constructed for five-dimensional SCFTs, which further supports their existence and allows for quantitative studies. We confront these dualities with a decisive test. We obtain the partition functions and central charges in gauge theory deformations of the SCFTs and extrapolate the results to the conformal fixed points. In the appropriate large N limits, this precisely matches the AdS/CFT predictions, providing strong support for the proposed dualities.

Objective: To explore the interventions for change in oral health behaviour that are effective in improving oral health behaviours in 8 to 18-year-old children during oral health promotion.

Methods: The Joanna Briggs Institute framework of evidence synthesis for conducting a scoping review was implemented for the methodology. Included studies related to the objective, measured clinical or non-clinical outcomes, were in English, 2011-2023, and were experimental, observational or reviews.

Background: Post-stroke depression (PSD) is the most prevalent neuropsychiatric complication following a stroke. The inflammatory theory suggests that PSD may be associated with an overactive inflammatory response. However, research findings regarding inflammation-related indicators in PSD remain inconsistent and elusive.

Bootstrap Principle for the Spectrum and Scattering of Strings.

We show that the Veneziano amplitude of string theory is the unique solution to an analytically solvable bootstrap problem. Uniqueness follows from two assumptions: faster than power-law falloff in high-energy scattering and the existence of some infinite sequence in momentum transfer at which higher-spin exchanges cancel. The string amplitude-including the mass spectrum-is an output of this bootstrap.

Parametrization of Generalized Parton Distributions from t-Channel String Exchange in AdS Spaces.

Center for Nuclear Theory, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York 11794-3800, USA.

We introduce a string-based parametrization for nucleon quark and gluon generalized parton distributions (GPDs) that is valid for all skewness. Our approach leverages conformal moments, representing them as the sum of spin-j nucleon A-form factor and skewness-dependent spin-j nucleon D-form factor, derived from t-channel string exchange in AdS spaces consistent with Lorentz invariance and unitarity. This model-independent framework, satisfying the polynomiality condition due to Lorentz invariance, uses Mellin moments from empirical data to estimate these form factors.
