Background: Dementia is associated with a range of non-cognitive features that can occur during the prodromal phase. Improved recognition of non-cognitive presentations of dementia could reduce inequalities in dementia diagnosis, particularly if sociocultural factors influence rates of help-seeking for cognitive symptoms. We aimed to investigate presentations to primary care in the years before dementia diagnosis in a deprived and ethnically diverse population with universal access to health care.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is associated with a range of non-cognitive symptoms that can be early or even presenting features. Better recognition of pre-diagnostic symptoms of AD would support improved early detection and diagnosis.

Method: To identify possible prodromal symptoms of AD, we systematically searched three electronic databases for prospective longitudinal studies to March 2023, that reported the risk of AD diagnosis associated with non-cognitive symptoms.

University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Background: Psychotic symptoms (delusions and/or hallucinations) are among the most common and impactful neuropsychiatric symptoms that occur within Alzheimer's disease (AD): present in around half of AD patients, they are associated with increased distress for the individual and their families, poorer disease outcome, and greater risk of hospitalization and death. Using Random Forest analyses, aim of this study is to provide clarity on the value of neuroanatomical, neuropsychological, and neuropsychiatric features when predicting the presence of psychotic symptoms in AD.

Method: Data used in preparation for this study was obtained from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative database (adni.

Background: Previous studies on neuroimaging findings in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients with hallucinations and delusions have yielded inconsistent results. We aimed to systematically review neuroimaging findings of delusions and hallucinations in AD patients to describe the most prominent neuroimaging features.

Methods: We performed a comprehensive search in three online databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science in June 2023.

Psychopathological manifestations and cognitive impairments are core features of psychotic disorders. Polygenic risk scores (PRS) offer insights into the relationships between genetic vulnerability, symptomatology, and cognitive impairments. This study used a network analysis to explore the connections between PRS, cognition, psychopathology, and overall functional outcomes in individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis (FEP).
